Yalrite I'm Callum and i have decided to produce a music magazine for my Media AS coursework. This is because i think i would find it more enjoyable than a film and i enjoy music more than films. i also enjoy and would like to go in to journalism as a profession therefore it is a great opportunity to gain experience in writing articles.
Initial Ideas
At the moment i am planning on creating a magazine which will be focusing on the genre of Indie/Acoustic music, however i have also had an idea were i can combined music with fashion so there would be articles based on the music and then the style and image of the genre, the fashion behind it all.
my target audience would be probably people who are between the age of 15 - 24. So i will be aiming my magazine at mainly teenagers and young adults who would be more interested in the genre of music which my magazine will be based on. I think this target audience will be most likely to want to invest in my magazine because it will specialise in the genre of music they like. It will also be individual because it will involve the image and fashion of the people who follow this genre of music, however were as your typical magazine based on fashion would specialise and focus more on female fashion, were as i would attempt to focus more on male fashion and image. However it will all link in with the genre of music, the indie/acoustic look. I think using the link with fashion it could help be my Unique selling point. As not many magazines would aim more at the male gender. I think my product would be successful because it has a big audience to aim at.
